Stratford-upon-Avon es un municipio situado en Warwickshires donde nació y murió Williams Shakespeare. Es un lugar turístico donde todo está dedicado al mayor escritor de habla inglesa de todos los tiempos.
The Stratford-upon-Avon is a town located in Warwickshire where Williams Shakespeare was born and died. It is a tourist place where everything is dedicated to the greatest English-speaking writer of all time.
La ciudad está bordeada por el río Avon por lo que lleva su nombre y hay varios teatros en ella destacando el Royal Shakespeare Theatre, lugar de actuación de la Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC).
Lo más significativo además de su casa de estilo Tudor y la de su mujer, Anne Hathaway, es la Trinity Church rodeada por cementerio donde decenas de antiguas losas de enmohecido granito le dan una aire misterioso y romántico entre la neblina y humedad propia de la zona. En esta iglesia Shakespeare fue bautizado, casado y enterrado, pudiendo ver su busto y su tumba junto al altar mayor.
The city is bordered by the Avon river which takes its name and there are several theaters on it highlighting the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, performance venue of the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC).
